Introduction:
In 2 Corinthians 2:14, Paul describes how God always leads us in triumph in Christ. In Roman times, when an army won a battle, they would march back victorious into the city with their defeated enemies as prisoners. The victorious soldiers would parade through ceremonial arches to display their triumph to all the people.
This is the image Paul uses to describe Christians - we are part of God's triumphal procession! Wherever we go, we display God's glory, beauty and victory. We are the sweet fragrance of Christ, spreading the knowledge of Him everywhere (2 Cor 2:15).
The Power of Prayer:
Jesus promises that we can ask anything in His name and He will do it so that God is glorified (John 14:13). We are to continuously ask, seek and knock in prayer - and God will answer (Matthew 7:7). But we must ask in faith, without doubting or wavering. Doubting hinders our prayers (James 1:5-6).
Living in Triumph:
Reject every evil or negative report - believe God's report (Isaiah 53:1). Do not accept negative words, diagnoses or circumstance. Take God's report!
Forgive others completely so your own sins can be forgiven and your prayers are not hindered (Mark 11:25-26). Let go of all offenses.
Honor your spouse, never dishonoring or abusing them. This ensures your prayers flow freely (1 Peter 3:7).
Stay in God's Word to constantly be built up spiritually and receive your full inheritance in Christ (Acts 20:32).
Keep believing, asking and declaring God's victory and triumph in your life. Live from glory to glory! Testimony to testimony!
Why Prayers Are Hindered:
Doubt - Doubting God's promises hinders answers to prayer. When we ask, we must have faith God will do it (James 1:6).
Unforgiveness - If we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us and prayers are blocked (Mark 11:26).
Dishonoring Spouse - Mistreating or dishonoring your husband/wife hinders prayers (1 Peter 3:7).
Walk in freedom! Forgive, honor, have faith - and live a triumphant life! Keep declaring God's victory and goodness. Just as God parades us triumphantly before all, showcasing His victory, we are to parade His glory and beauty everywhere we go! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Triumphant Father,
We praise You for the great triumph and victory we have in Jesus Christ. Thank You for always leading us triumphantly through every circumstance in life. We ask for grace to walk as Your trophies, displaying the sweet fragrance and glory of Christ everywhere we go.
Lord, we come to You in prayer, asking anything in the name of Jesus, believing You will answer. Give us faith to continuously pray, seek and knock without doubting or wavering. Forgive us for our doubts, and help us trust Your promises completely.
Grant us grace to freely forgive others, just as You have forgiven us. We release all offenses into Your hands. May unforgiveness never block the flow of Your mercy in our lives. Help us to honor our spouses and family members through our words and actions.
Lord, nourish us daily on Your Word. Build us up spiritually and lead us into the full inheritance we have in You. We want to live from glory to glory, with testimonies of Your goodness ever on our lips.
We declare Your victory over every circumstance we face! Though trials will come, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us. Nothing can separate us from Your love. To You alone be all the glory, honor and praise, now and forever, Amen.
