More lessons to learn from Noah
Arise and shine because everything you've lost , will be recovered
Obedience in the face of coming judgment
Noah obeyed God's command to build the ark, even though there was no outward evidence yet of the coming flood. His obedience saved his family even as judgment came on the disobedient.
"By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." (Hebrews 11:7)
We should likewise obey God's word with persevering faith in the face of scoffers.
God's judgment and salvation
The flood represents God's righteous judgment on sin. But in judgment God provided a way of salvation for Noah and his family, along with the animals.
This points us to Jesus, the Ark of salvation amidst God's judgment on sin. Just as the floodwaters "lifted up" the ark, so Christ was lifted up on the cross to save us from sin's judgment.
A new creation after the flood
After the flood, God started over with Noah and his family to replenish a cleansed earth. He promised never again to destroy the world with a flood.
Noah's story foreshadows the new creation we have in Christ. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17) God will make all things new.
So Noah teaches us obedient faith in God's promises, salvation amidst judgment, and hope of new life on the other side of trials. God is able to restore and renew out of even the greatest devastation.
